Voice in video say that Kazakhstan is 4 times size of Texas. Ruled by president Nasarbayev!
It contain one true statement and one disgusting fabrication.
True statement that it ruled by premier Nazarbayevs!
Disgusting fabrication that it 4 time size of Americ state Texas. The truth is that Kazakhstan number 1 biggest country in world, 5 times the size of Russian Empires!
Borat arrive to Toronto film festival on a carriage pulled by womans! It very natural in Kazakhstan!
Kazakhstan senior diplomat in USA say that what Borat present in his movies is not Kazakhstan but it a Boratistan. People in sane minds should know that a real country cannot be like that.
This simply not true and is fabrications made by evil nitwits Uzbekistan.

I think the Borat movie is a complete disgrace. It is a completely unrealistic portrayal of Kazakhstan and what is worse is that most of it is completely fake and not even filmed in the real country. It’s pulling the wool over peoples eyes to make them think a country is different to the way it really is. It’s no surprise to me that Sacha (the person who plays Borat - he is an actor if you didn’t realise) is Jewish so probably has a lot of pent up anger towards the Muslim world, it’s for that reason he is making it look like everyone is against the Jewish people which couldn’t be further from the truth. He must have some kind of deep-seeded persecution complex if he has to make people look like idiots to feel like he has a place in the world. I think his movie is a failure because it is completely inaccurate and the jokes are crass and unoriginal. The acting on the whole is poor and most of it staged like the Rodeo show, there is no way they would have done that for real because they would have reaped a whirlwind.
I think anyone with a shred of intelligence will boycott this horrendous creation and all the phony hysterical mass media that is being dished out alongside it. Also he clearly has a vendetta against Uzbekistan and is constantly making out that we are at war with Kazakhstan which is simply untrue. Uzbekistan has also been portrayed very poorly throughout Sacha’s shenanigans and I wouldn’t be surprised if our government teams up with the Kazakh government to take Sacha to court and have him executed.
Setting the Borat issue straight on Behalf of Kazakhstan
Like millions of Americans I have seen the Borat movie but unlike many I have been to Kazakhstan — also spelled Kazakstan — and I want to set the record straight. Kazakhstan is a wonderful country with customs that are both foreign and familiar to ours. In fact, there are many things I would take back to America. Borat (Sasha Cohen) has made this country look like it is populated with nothing but slovenly, unwashed, immoral, uneducated people – this is almost completely false in my experience. No, they don’t have an Ivy League educational system but these people for the most part are good-hearted and, if not well-read by our American standards, they do love storytelling. They ritually gather at village centers – usually this is where bartering and exchanges are conducted for food and services - and they share their knowledge by applying the oral tradition (please let’s not lower ourselves to the Boratian ‘oral’ jokes here). Yes, their technology is not at the state where ours is yet so they compensate with conversation, face to face. I’d actually like to see more of this in our world versus the faceless interchange of the internet. We might be a happier people. This helps their families stay close – and, again to refute Borat’s incest insinuations, this is not a national sport and I saw very little there to give one pause to consider it is more than a rare occurrence which is indeed not looked well upon even in the most rural stretches. These are a happy people with great values. No, Borat, they do not make their 8 year old children work by force. And women can vote in all elections. Legal age to wed is up to the families themselves. They are not a race of anti-Semites - they have a small Jewish population of over 170 who are situated by their own free will to live in a ghetto. But this is common: America and the world are replete with communities where people of similar backgrounds and mindsets gather and create neighborhoods – we have all been to Chinatown, Little Italy, Germantown. The food in Kazakhstan is some of the best tasting I have ever had in all my travels; always fresh. You cannot believe what they do with their vegetables and their goats (although Borat only highlights the sexual engagements – another exaggeration at their expense. I never saw anything like what the comedian speaks of. But let us not be so self righteous to forget about our own iconic cowboys who have gotten lonely on the trail — and the stories about them and cattle – rumors as well, I’m sure.) The people of Kazakhstan are indeed passionate and excellent dancers – Borat showed us that and the men do generally dance with great fanfare with each other as he indicated but again this is not unlike many countries. Most of all, I would take home to America the laughter and kindness of these simple people – they tell jokes all day on all subjects especially special family events. If your daughter is married in Kazakhstan, she is not sold for a VCR with a remote control like Borat says – and, remember, in America many brides’ parents still offer dowries or at least pay for the wedding so we are not really so different. The bride, as is the custom of Kazakhstan, is always asked to work for both families – this brings everyone closer. During the days she might, for example, work at the dairy or farm and nights she might sew or cook or clean and it is not uncommon for the young bride to have a say in the family financials. One fact to consider is that women in Kazakhstan do not live as long as men. This is the opposite of the statistics in the United States. So I wouldn’t want to live there with my present wife and daughter. Other than that, Kazakhstan is a place we can learn from. In closing, please realize the difference between a false documentary or propaganda and pure fiction. While the Borat film is funny, it is not real in many ways – although the men, as he showed in his movie too graphically for many tastes, do not consider nudity offensive. They swim without bathing suits and walk after their swim back into town often with nothing but towels around their necks. Their innocence is something to be admired — and if not, one can simply shield one’s eyes. There are a great many people in Kazakhstan who are offended by the publicity and news stories about Borat’s film though they will not see it due to the fact there are not many movie theatres there.
Wow. you have absolutely no sense of humor! its amazing, i still cant figure out if ur joking. listen, stop trying to over analyze everything u see. its like in highschool. remember when the teachers asked you to analyze poems? did it ever cross your mind that they wrote it just because it sounded nice. not everything has hidden meanings. but the next sentce does! Figuratively U Cant Keep Your Ovaries Up. see if ur clever enough to read that.
ne way if u have ne thing to say, or ne 1 agrees with me about this duech, im at ishouldbeqb14@yahoo.com
keep it movin
Hey Borat is not a Muslim, if you watched the movie or his show he clearly states when asked about his religion: I follow the hawk.. All this movie does is expose people’s prejudices towards women, homosexuals, minorities and people of other religions… The joke is not on Kazakhstan but on America, specifically those in America who still hold such racist atitudes, especially in the rural parts…
Oh, and did you think it coudl possibly spur interest in Kazakhstan. For me it has, I went to National Geogprahic and found out it has a 98 percent literacy rate. Kazakhstan should use the publicity to it’s advantage..
listen you fuker stop using the name mike becuase my name is mike and i fuking LOVE that film and now my friends think that i hate that film all because of YOU,you SPA.people obviously dont think that kazakhstan is actually like that, its all part of the JOKE.learn to take a fucking joke
p.s STOP USING THE NAME MIKE,spa:)
wow that certanly is a good point mike.its all suddenly so clear.i love you mike, everyone should.
To all who thinks this a joke without ramifications - read this a woman from Kazakhstan.
here’s an exerpt:
Borat, who calls himself “Kazakhstan’s sixth most famous man,” is an ignorant, anti-Semitic buffoon. But with a literacy rate of 98%, Kazakhstan is one of the world’s most educated countries. And our population is diverse - 46% Muslim, 44% Orthodox Christian and 2% Protestant - not a hotbed of intolerance.
Gauhar Abdygaliyeva
The people of Kazakhstan are speaking up and Americans who beleive in civility should support them. The movie is funny in parts but wrong-minded.
pupsjess1 @ youtube
michael, this is simply disgusting alligations made by uzbeki.
in kazakhstan we have only jew and non-jew. everyone who jew live in jewtown with exception to prostitute, of course, who are allowed to live anywhere but red light districts (which in kazakhstan is a small regious where woman are not prostitute).
please you understand this and do not believe assholes uzbekistan.
Jeez, people, it’s a spoof, not a documentary. Sure, it’s unfair that Kazakhstan gets treated like that, but would anybody have paid any attention to the country if Cohen had chosen to make one up? Maybe he could have still fooled people if he said he came from a place called Khuzikstan.
Hell, there are loads of countries in the world that people haven’t heard of - how many of you have heard of East Timor, the newest country in Asia, and until Montenegro got independence this year, the newest in the world? However, as it’s also the poorest, it’s just as well that Cohen didn’t choose that as Borat’s country of origin, as that would be kicking it while it’s down.
If Kazakhstan can afford to hire big PR firms and take out advertising supplements in the New York Times, it must be doing well!
Azamat
It’s a spoof - agreed. But the point is Kazakhstan does exist and has real people so Sacha has real ramifications to own up to. I saw the humor in the film of course. Loved the scene where Azamat and Borat fight naked. Two actors shocking but not damaging to a people. The humor brilliant as it is doesn’t excuse some of the misinformation he is spreading.
pupsjess1 @ your tube
Kazakhstan has surely suffered worse things in its history than this. If it can establish itself as a destination for investment and torism, then its people have had the last laugh. Would you rather that Kazakhstan be known for human rights abuses instead? Now those WON’T be fabrications of nitwit Uzbekistan.
Azamat
You are one of great vision if you can see the Borat movie leading Kazakhtan to becoming a stronger destination for investment and tourism. I hear they are being visited by businessmen on sex tours. Increaed industry and tourism and awful ramifications.
Okay to all the people that are going about how offensive it is. I do agree that it can be offensive. My friends and i all enjoyed it though…couldn’t stop laughing. I guess you should not watch this film if you are an easily offended person. I saw the funny side of it.
And when people keep saying it’s giving the wrong impression for Kazakhstan but (excuse for my language) fucking hell, i’m…what 15? and even i understood that when Sacha kept going on about prostitution and women not being equal to men etc etc, I knew it was part of the fuking joke!!!
I see people going on for great lengths about the accuracy of the film, going on and on about how kazakhstan isn’t as disgusting as he made it out to be. We knnow! anyone.with.a.brain.could.tell.he.wasn’t.being.serious. The film was a comedy, do you really think people going to watch this consider taking this movie seriously? the only reason he did this was to make the film funny, to get reactions out of people, i mean what reaction are you going to get from people if you go “Hello I am Borat and women are well respected in our country” People just need to relax and ejoy the film.
Fair enough if you don’t like it, not your sense of humour or taste but is there any need for all this commotion. And when he is skitting Jew’s the point is, he is a Jew himself, so really it almost makes it less offensive, it’s just like the whole, its okay for a black man to call another black man a “nigger” but not okay for a white man.
I’m sorry but come on people, have a bloody sense of humour. I wouldn’t have minded if they took the piss out of my country, because i saw the whole film as one big joke. In all fairness “borat” had prejudiced thoughts against like almost everyone, so you can’t really be offended.
As far as i’m concerned it was a great movie, it was not staged, how the hell was it staged??? He’s a legend, he’s known for things like these…if you have seen any of his previous comedy like Ali G. The reason why he is so sucessful is because all of the real funny reaction he is getting from other people when he does those weird/ offensive documentarys.
Oh well, enough of my ranting, i might watch this film again at the weekend. Now i am just waiting for everyone to come attack my post and reel of about things. teehee……
Oh my god….seriously though “michael” you need to relax, i skimmed read your extremely long post about kazakhstan, seriously, why???? WHY?!why are you wasting your time writing almost an essay to us about it???? Come on!! like the reasons above everyone knew he was joking, you wern’t the only bright spark to figure that out, whether you have been to kazakhstan or not. Just save yourself some time next time in going into great detail about how inaccurate sacha was becuase if you thought that the whole film was his point to make kazakhstan an aweful place then you just didn’t quite grasp the humour he was trying to create.
Fair enough, some may say it’s not fair becuase its cruel or whatever, shouldn’t be funny. Then one thing for them is, don’t go watch it. simple. and on the last note, i do apologize for my harsh tones, sometimes i get carried away, really sorry. i would go back and edit what i have said to make myself politer, but i can’t be bothered. so ya no.
I can’t *agree* with you more Laura, of people did actaully think kazakhstan was actually like that they muts be really thick, it was just a joke. i loved the film. was so hilarious. and i’m not those people who get offended really easily so i guess i enjoyed it.
Haha glad you agree borat lmao. you replied rather quick =) see, people? everyone knows he was joking….don’t get wound up about it
Laura
You are right. My post was too long and boring. Went on YouTube today and saw all the videos by people who are singing “Throw the Jew down the well.” They were all earnest and passionate and serious. Borat’s version had a sense of humor - the simple country melody in contrast to the violent message – it made you laugh, made me laugh. Yes I’m Jewish. And I have a sense of humor and a sense of right and wrong. The issue is that people are taking that stuff seriously. I myself was singing the song when my kid heard me and asked ‘why do you want to throw the Jew down the well?” I learned a great deal in that question. Funny gets people to accept truths and misinformation and it also has a responsibility to the actions it causes. I think Sacha might have thought it was a joke that we’d all get. He was wrong. And he must rectify this – how? Sacha let’s talk and have a bagel if you like. (See I’m funny, too!)
If people cannot comprehend the joke that is their loss.. This kind of satire may go over people’s heads because at first glance it may seem offensive when it fact the purpose is to reveal people’s prejudice. This will not create prejudice. But anyone with half a brain knows he’s joking and if they don’t, then well their a lost cause. He is not poking fun at Jews or women, he’s ridiculing people who harbor such attitudes. He can’t be politically correct to draw out their prejudice, he has to act as if he’s racist so they will feel comfortable enough to reveal it.
You guys are very articulate. Please post your video point of view on why Borat is funny at pupsjess1. Send this to your friends. I am going to make my own ‘movie film.’
thanks.
Hey Overly Sensitive People,
It is a JOKE! Obviously the portrayal of Kazakhstan by Cohen is so ridiculous and over the top that only a fool would believe it as the way the country truly is. Some of you people have a severely underdeveloped sense of humor.
The thing is, it could just have easily been many other countries to serve the set-up of the joke. It’s just one that is so different and exotic to Americans that no-one would question him too much about it. No one even knew a damn thing about Kazakhstan before this movie. I had to refer to a map to make sure it was real. But it inspired me to research this country to find out about it. The thought of traveling there even entered my mind. This will almost certainly bring more tourists to the country than if there were no movie. This is the best thing to happen to Kazakhstan in the U.S. ever. Can I get a “What What” cuz you know I’m right Bitches!!
Thank you!
Cohen has to own up to what? Hurting people’s fragile feelings? It was a joke. Some find jokes funny, and others don’t.
All I can say is “Boo Hoo!” to those who don’t like the movie. People act like they have some right to control what others say or think.
News flash - you don’t and you never will. So, to all the anti-borat whiners, take some responsibilty over yourselves, suck it up and act like an adult. If you don’t like something people say, ignore it.
Shame on all of you - I thought all the people from K were mature like Borat…
Elaine, you are just to funny. Dont ever loose your sense of humor.
