Entertaining, and provoking.

Huge amount of thought went in making it, if you try to take seriously don’t go, if you want to be entertained then go. It is fun and I think one of the best films out in years.

Some of us may even think about our own views on life as a result.

This film, although undoubtedly mocking and offensive to its subjects, will bring more wealth and happiness than any of these people have ever known. A foriegn exchange firm is thanking Borat for sparking a surge in travel to Kazakhstan. Travelex has ordered £500,000 worth of its Tenge currency to cope with the boom and a representative said: “It’s down to Borat.”
The film has put the town of Glod on the map; it is naive to think that the local population are not going to be better off as a result?
The American teenagers who made racist and sexist remarks after signing release forms to a film company; well more fool them, quite frankly, it should be a lesson to them to keep their controversial opinions to themselves in future.
There are no losers here; everyone benefits some way or another. The film is a hilarious work of art and its critics need to calm down and grow a sense of humour.

Yeah, chill out. The joke is not on Kazakhstan but on the racists of America who show their true colors in the movie. Anyone who’s stupid enough to believe people in Kazakhstan drink fermented horse urine or lock their women in cages is beyond hope. Any semi intelligent person would know it’s a joke, that what he says about the country is untrue… This moive is a social commentary expsoing people’s prejudices against foreigners, women and people of other religions.

To say ‘it is only a movie’ is like saying ‘I will hurt you but I am only hurting you.” What does that mean? Relaxedintheusa you must recognize that these people are unfairly characterized here - funny as the movie is. And this country which makes the world’s second best scrub brushes for the kitchen and toilets - I don’t know how they do this but I bought them for gifts and have kept six for us in my apartment- is now reduced to dirty undereducated prostitutes. This includes mothers, sisters, aunts, and grandmothers too!

As for the comment ‘goat” from barryson - the dish is made in over 240 ways in Kazakhstan and while I have not of course tasted them all - but that is a goal. Some of them are spiced with an herb that is mixed with human perspiration collected after field workers come in from their morning chores and blended with a wine that rivals anything I have had from Europe or Australia. Delicious. Sounds very strange but you have to try it.
